Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Michael Burtch, doing business as QT Trading Lab ("we", "us"), covering your use of the QT Trading Lab courses at learn.qttradinglab.com and Edge Optimizer at app.edge.qttradinglab.com (together, "the services"). By creating an account or using the services, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old to use the services.

2. The services

• QT Trading Lab courses: lessons, quizzes, drills and reference material about trading, built around the QMS framework. Foundations is free with an account. Other courses open when we grant access to your account. We decide who gets access to those courses, and we may change or remove access.
• Edge Optimizer: helps you record, import and review your trading: trade journals, statistics, stop-loss and take-profit analysis, strategy tracking, and AI-assisted import and journaling features.

Some features are marked as previews or beta and may change or be removed.

3. Not financial advice

• Nothing in the services, including lessons, quizzes, examples, the QMS framework, statistics, AI responses and strategy templates, is investment, financial, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell anything.
• Course examples and charts are for teaching. They aren't trade recommendations and don't represent results you should expect.
• Statistics describe past trades. Past results don't guarantee future results, and nothing in the services promises profits or success with any broker, prop firm or evaluation.
• AI-generated content can be inaccurate or incomplete. Check anything important yourself.
• Imported data depends on the files, screenshots and connections you provide. Review imported trades before relying on them.

4. Your account

One account signs you in to both services. Keep your sign-in secure and give accurate account information. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed it. Each account is for one person, so don't share your sign-in or your course access.

5. Course content

The courses, including lessons, slides, narration, quizzes, drills, diagrams and the QMS dictionary, belong to QT Trading Lab and are protected by copyright. While you have access, we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning.

Without our written permission, don't copy, record, republish, resell or share course material, download it to redistribute, or use it to build a competing course or product.

6. Your data and content

You own the trades, files, screenshots, journal entries, course notes and other content you add. You give us permission to host, copy, process and display that content, and to send it to our service providers (including for AI features in Edge Optimizer), only as needed to operate and improve the services for you. This permission ends when your content is deleted, apart from routine backups that expire on their normal schedule.

Only upload content you have the right to use. Don't upload other people's personal information without a lawful basis.

7. Acceptable use

Don't:

• use the services for anything illegal, fraudulent or harmful;
• try to access other users' data or accounts, or probe, scan or bypass security measures;
• upload malware or interfere with or overload the services;
• scrape, copy, resell or reverse engineer the services, or bulk-download course material, except where the law allows it;
• share your account or course access with others, share or misuse sync tokens, or use automation to get around usage limits.

8. Third-party services

Edge Optimizer can work with data from brokers, prop firms and trading platforms, such as FTMO, MetriX, TradingView and MetaTrader, and the courses discuss brokers, prop firms, platforms and markets. We aren't affiliated with or endorsed by any of them unless we say so. Their own terms apply to your use of their services, and we aren't responsible for their availability or the accuracy of the data they provide.

9. Fees

The services are currently free to use: Foundations with an account, other courses when we grant you access, and Edge Optimizer with monthly limits on AI features. If we introduce paid courses, plans or purchases, we'll show you the price and any extra terms before you're charged, and you'll only pay if you choose to.

10. Changes and availability

We work to keep the services available and your data safe, but we don't guarantee they will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features and course material, including updating or retiring lessons. If we plan to shut down a service, we'll give reasonable notice so you can export your data.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using the services at any time and ask us to delete your account, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts, or remove course access, if you break these terms or put the services or other users at risk. Where reasonable, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to export your data.

12. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, the services, including course material, are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for trading losses, lost profits, lost data, or indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the services, including decisions you make based on course material. Our total liability for any claim relating to the services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

14. Indemnity

If you misuse the services or break these terms, you agree to cover reasonable losses and costs, including legal fees, that we incur because of third-party claims resulting from it.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll let you know by email or in the services before they take effect. If you keep using the services after that, the updated terms apply.
